Since Third party apps like Kingo root app has not published rooting app for marshmallow devices,we have to use the old method of flashing zips using the Recovery.
GUIDELINES/STEPS
PREREQUISITES

• Download SuperSU 2.66.zip from here and place it in your original SD card
• Download Sp flash tool
• Download Twrp recovery from here
• Have a laptop/PC by your side and ensure necessary Tecno w4 drivers are installed

STEPS

• Switch off the phone
• Extract the file on your Pc and select Recovery. img on SP Flash tool and select download
• Switch the phone into recovery mode using Volume up button + Power button
• If the Download was successful the Phone will boot into TWRP Recovery.
• In TWRP, if you get a prompt asking you to swipe to allow TWRP modify the system partition then go ahead and swipe.
• In TWRP recovery, tap Install
• Navigate to the location of the SuperSU.zip and select it
• Swipe to confirm flashing of SuperSU.zip and wait till flashing is complete
• Reboot the phone
• Your Tecno Phone now is successfully rooted
